The Quebec Investor category of Canadian immigration allows qualified immigrant investors who whe program is for those who are willing to invest a minimum of $1200,000 CAD and have a net worth of $2 million CAD. Entrepreneurs with a certain net worth who plan to run a business in canada can apply for this program. The canadian government runs various programs encouraging small startups to establish themselves their business. The objective of this program is to invite foreign national entrepreneurs who will create jobs and drive economic growth. However, they have an eligibility criteria which the applicants must fulfill:

  • Meet minimum language requirements in English or French (CLB 5 in all abilities)
  • Have an investment fund of atleast $200,000 CDA.
  • Plan to settle in a province other than the Province of Quebec;
  • Pass Canadian security and medical clearances;
  • Prove your business is supported through a designated organization; and
  • Show your business meets ownership requirements.

Self-Employed Program

Canada's Self-Employed Persons Program allows eligible self-employed foreign nationals with relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics to establish themselves in Canada as permanent residents. There is no regulated minimum net worth requirement for the Self-Employed Persons Program. However, the applicant must show that they sufficient funds to settle in canada. The applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria in order to immigrate under this program.

  • The candidate must fulfil the Government of Canada's “definition” of self employed person in order to be considered for eligibility.
    “A self-employed person is defined as someone with relevant self-employed experience in a cultural or athletic activity.”
  • Must have a minimum 2 years experience relevant to his skills and area of expertise.
    Once the applicant fulfills the eligibility criteria , they are marked on a point basis on various factors and should attain a minimum of 35 out of 100 in the assessment.
